POF....Pffft

On a whim I quickly made a POF profile but did not post pictures of myself. I wanted to be able to reply to someone's profile. I ended up messaging three different people. All with the same outcome. We had numerous messaging exchanges of friendly banter. Then they asked for photos, I obliged and sent photos. Bang! They're gone! I'm dropped like a hot potato! Yet I am a slim and attractive person! Granted, photos do not represent me well but I get plenty of male attention when I am in public. I am sure I did not look repulsive in my photos. I have never seen such rude, shallow and superficial behaviour! So in order to just to be able to chat to someone I have to look like a Vogue model?! I try to understand that generally men are more visual than women thus looks are more important to them but this shallow superficiality I experienced on POF was over the top! Perhaps with all the window shopping that happens with online dating, people develop unrealistic expectations. It doesn't seem healthy to me. Everything about that POF site repels me "Rate Photos" Give me a break!

Here's where you messed up:

The thing about online dating is men (and women) put up a profile with their pics hoping to find someone who's profile (and pics) suit their preference. So by you hiding your photo, the chances are high you weren't their type.

If I'm looking for a specific type of man and come across another attractive man who's nothing like I'm looking for, chances are I would stop replying too.

Don't beat yourself up, if you're "slim and attractive" it won't be hard to dust yourself up and try again, no? Maybe those men wanted thick girls?

Don't worry. I have been on POFD since April. I get every excuse under the sun from ladies letting me know why I am not attracted to them. You know what, it is almost a relief to talk to my ex-wife compared to what I am experiencing here on POF. Don't give up. Keep going. You'll find someone. My username is Musicmaxx. I don't know whether or not you are near Victoria B.C. or not. If you are drop me a line.

Ok...

If you're gonna go on pof, you gotta go the whole hog and put pics up from the get go. Profiles without pics look super dodge... Also, you're slim, pretty, whatevs.... If you're not smiling or if you're into the trout pout... People ain't gonna go for that no matter what you look like.

Be happy you had any responses from which to choose. Men get zilch. Supply and demand, thanks to Mother Nature, ensures that all online dating is slanted in women's favor. 'Tis better to have deleted than to have none to delete.

I've been on herefoor almost 2 yrs now. Not one answer, the ones that I get from pps I that message you are not what you want at alll nobody reads your profile

In my experience, POF has become a cheap hookup site. Not used by men who want a serious commitment. Most pof men want to text (evolving into sexting asap) and/or bring you to their homes for a first date consisting of dvd then straight to bed and/or use the site as a dating playground for meeting variety of women with no intention on settling on just one. NO thanks! AVOID!

There's a trend of vanishing suitors on POF, whether they see your picture or not. Seems like there should be a fair few of them on milk cartons.

Actually, it's down to two factors: anonymous internet rudeness, and the BBD "bigger, better deal". Brush it off, know that the exact thing has happened to them too, and don't think too much of it. You can always share your pics privately right off the bat to keep from wasting your time.

Best of luck!
