You've disappointed me, and yes, this does affect our friendship.

I thought you were great, and one of my favourite parts about you is how I thought you were a great friend. Tonight, I learned you aren't. You broke a commitment to me so you could go sleep with a girl. I know where I stand now. We may still be friends, but I won't be prioritizing time with you any further. You've disappointed me.

You should be happy for your buddy not disappointed, that may be considered a little selfish of you :(

You are such a good friend that you decide to handle it with an anoymous post, basically an open letter, to this "friend?" If you can't be honest with this person face to face and tell him why you are upset then what do you hope your post will accomplish? Does it matter that he slept "with a girl" or would the outrage be as great if he slept with a boy?

Why do you care?

You're not his gf, and if you're just FWB's, then who cares if he sleeps with someone else? Uh hello?

If you think you should be the highest priority in some other person's life at all times, get used to disappointment.

We are a very self-centered species. Unless that person is obsessed with you, or has dependency issues, it would be perfectly natural and healthy for them to pursue their own agenda, excluding you. And not just just once in a while, but habitually.

To expect otherwise seems odd to me.

Promises promises

Why is everybody calling the OP selfish? If I make a friend-date with somebody to do brunch on Sunday, and that friend ditches me on short notice to go get laid, AND if that happens habitually, hell yeah I'm gonna be pissed. Keep your appointments!

@ geeknomad : I am not the highest priority in my best friend's life. But if she promises to come to my recital, then yes, she is making me a high priority in her life for those 2 hours. And she's never let me down.

He said he broke a commitment. So they must have had to do something together, idk something inportant obviously. I was going to a protest to make a speech, I'm super anxious and not a public speaker. I needed my beat friend there so I wouldn't choke. She didn't show. I choked. Idk what the commitment was but it's always sad when someone let's you down. Take care op.

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses

Sleeping with a girl sounds like a good enough reason to break/postpone a commitment. As a "friend", I would understand.
