... this world has too many beeps. give engineers a stupid toy and they go using it willy-nilly all over the place!

There is a very tiny microphone in every microwave that transmits those beeps to the food companies, so that they know you're heating up a pizza at 12am. Fatty.

I hate that! I usually stop the microwave before it finishes because I can't stand the beeping. For me it's sensory. I have autism and high pitched noises hurt my ears and make me want to annihilate whatever is making that noise out of self defense.

There is a lot of unnecessary noise pollution in our daily lives. The regular oven doesn't need to beep when we set the temp. And neither does the microwave.
I often wish my car key fob were also silent when I press the button to lock or unlock it. It should be an option to have sound or not. I think there is too much useless beeping in the modern society!

I agree. To add to it my neighbour has a mole repellent that lets out a beep ever 50 seconds... Now that's annoying.

Maybe buy your own microwave and do that to your own microwave! I don't think your roommates would appreciate that, if you don't tell them, you're taking it apart and do that.
