If I had a million dollars.

Actually, I only need $5000. That's it. It would clear up my debts and I'd be back on top and on track. It might be a pidly amount to some or it might make you throw up in your mouth like it does for me- but it does weigh on me. I have a full time day job that mentally exhausts me, but I know that's no excuse to not have an evening/weekend part-time job, lots of people do it. Successful people. People who, maybe, have no debt!

And never worked a weekend or PT job other than my career. I've just budgeted properly in life and never went crazy with spending. So it's definitely possible.

...to help give a voice to the underprivileged in this city. $999,995 could go a long way in helping many people.

You shouldn't have to work more than one job if you don't want to. Feeling guilt that you should is everything that is wrong with society. Be you and fuck debt. It doesn't matter.

I'm in the same vessel as you my friend. I was at $7500 2 years ago and now I'm down to $3500. I've added about $300-500 to my VISA this year because of concerts but otherwise I don't use it. I have the TD Visa Emerald card. That card can get you LOW interest rate if they give it to you. After a few years(7 or more) of being around 11-12.75% interest I am now down to Prime + 1.5% which is 4.35%. I get charged $14 for interest now. This only started in June for me. Pay on time and show them you're responsible for the debt you owe and maybe on your annual review they will give you something good. This goes for all credit cards and any credit you may have (cell phone, internet, cable, etc...). Don't miss payments because that could hurt your interest rate. (Only buy items you can afford)

A few years ago I started a TFSA (Tax Free Savings Account). This is what has helped me get the low interest rate and pay off my debt faster than paying slightly above the minimum payment each month. Without it I'd never be where I am now. I have instructed my bank to automatically take a set amount of money out of my bank account on the 15th of every month. I started at $50 initially. Then once I got used to letting go $50 and my budgeting changed I then went up to $80..then to $100 and now I'm at $150. Every December as a Christmas present to myself I take that money out and give it all to VISA. It hurts letting go all that money...but you've already spent it and now you owe it. This December I will have $1500 to throw at my debt taking it down to roughly $2000. I may even bite the bullet and give another $1000 of my own saved up money just to clear my debt further. The faster I can clear my debt the faster I can start saving and buying things I need. I turn 30 on Thursday. I don't want to be in debt going into my 30's.

$50 x 12 = $600
$75 x 12 = $900
$100 x 12 = $1200

I hope this will help you in some way.
Good luck!

Don't be so disheartened! With a few cutbacks and a little budgeting you'll have that debt taken care of. Booze, dinners out, cable, gas? None of that is necessary for the six months it will take you to pay off your debt!
You can do it!

You can do it

I am in a similar boat but waaaaay more.... Student loans are a bitch. I live modestly, only so when the seasons change (clothes), and make efforts to reduce costs for transportation (i. E. No taxis), entertainment, etc. You can do it!

who cares. You could be hit by a bus tomorrow. Enjoy life! Plus, most people have far more debt than you. Sounds like you've done well.
