Everyone ha been going way too crazy over that TV show. I read an absurd fact about the number of people who named their daughters after a child on the show. Maybe they should have taken into account a) the character's plot arc, and b) that their kids will have to wait until 2034 to actually be old enough to watch the show and understand it.

- I've heard the name Arya before the show came out.
- I was named after a TV show character in the 60's >> she was named after a character in The Merchant of Venice.
This how popular names come to be... What's wrong with that?

The books were earlier. They're a good read and were popular. I believe the first was 1996.
It's a better source than whatever well celebrities are drawing from.
