This behaviour has got to stop! I live in Richmond, which (not coincidentally) happens to have one of the largest populations of smokers. Many of these people apparently either don't know or don't care about the legislation in this province about smoking and about NOT disposing of cigarettes wherever they damn please. Last summer I reported a grass fire in progress that was almost certainly caused by a guy I saw walking on the dyke smoking. I wrote to the local paper but they "declined" to print it. (I didn't mention anything that would identify the individual in any way). The fear of offending the offender is clearly taking precedence over protecting our habitat! When I can find 20 discarded cigarette butts in a dry grassy area within 50 yards, then I'd say we definitely need to step up enforcement and slap these idiots with HUGE fines. I'm talking big enough that even the filthy rich who believe that they're above the law, would take notice of.

about our roaches? Sometimes their worth keeping, other times like before going into a concert you have to ditch them. Being organic I guess it would be okay right? Once it's all legalized they'll need to install organic roach trays next to the butt bins downtown.

I wish, instead of throwing cigarettes out their car windows they would throw out their phones.

There are little hand ashtrays. They're like women's compacts but they're made out of metal. When you close them it extinguishes the cigarette. Think these people will use them? Hardly. Selfish selfish selfish.
