Facebook Friends

I'm "friends" with you on Facebook- not your kid. Is there no separation between you and the kids anymore? Your profile pic is the kids. All your posts revolve around your kids. We live far apart so I used to enjoy FB to be kept up to date on your life- but it appears your life is now your kids. This is good and bad, but I sure miss YOU, my friend.

Roll the movie forward 18 years --- I have a lovely (divorced and single) friend who right now is posting his 20 year old son's photos of the son's trip to Europe. I want to shake him! "Tell us of your life! If it's that you miss your son, that's cool!" My lovely friend needs a life apart from his son.

Kids and parents are as much as one as partners in a relationship. Kids become your life and that's normal.
