Tolerance for biggots?

I am outraged that in response to the violence in Charlottesville our local racists have decided that it is OK to hold their own "Anti Muslim Rally" at city Hall this Saturday. I know that non-violent protest is the correct way to challenge intolerant, ignorant attitudes. Everybody in Canada is entitled to their opinion, and the right to assemble to express that opinion, no matter how repugnant. I will be attending the rally in opposition to the racist rally, raising my voice peacefully, expressing my conviction that Canada is a place for everybody. My confession is that the bigger part of me wants to violently counter-protest with steel toed boots and a baseball bat. Dear Nazi Shitheads, I am intolerant of your intolerance, and even though I won't, I want to violate your rights to safe assembly and freedom of expression.

I'm a pacifist, but I'm also Jewish. While I abhor violence, there is something satisfying about seeing genocidal pricks get a bat to the face.

Camadians often believe they are different than Americans but I see none. The former mimic the latter in every aspect of their lives. Hope you enjoy your afternoon of yelling at each other. Maybe I'll see you at the beach later on afterwards. We can share a beer or two and extoll our differences.

there's 20 of them and 2000 of us. It would be more effective to not show and have the same 20 assholes spreading hate to no-one. As if they'd never left their basement. Regardless, in Canada we still have a more recent genocide to reconcile. One step at a time.

I'm going to have difficulty not protesting against Hitler spawns... but I would also prefer to unacknowledge them. It WOULD be epic if no one showed up............. (???)

Whatever pussies, anti racism is overrated. Racism is a two way street. I've met people from different ethnic groups that dislike Caucasians. Besides language barriers are frustrating. Either learn to speak English or GTFO.
