I noticed lately people at stores can't bother with mentally registering if its morning or night - now they just default to saying "have a good one".

As a retail store associate, I usually go by the time or how it looks outside.
Before 5pm* = Have a great day!
After 5pm: Have a nice night!
*If it's still very sunny, bright, I go by "Have a nice day!"
Are unsatisfied/unhappy? If so, sorry!

As a retail store associate, customers
Enter the store: Hi!
Exit the store: Have a great day!
Get over yourself...

At least someone's wishing you positivity.
When was the last time you ever said hi back to a sales associate, or asked how they were, or said 'you, too' after they wished you a 'good one'?
Or are you one of those who walks in yapping on the phone, completely ignoring a greeting or blurts 'just looking!!!!!!' when someone simply just says hello.
Need a time check? Buy a watch or look at your phone. I think you need more of a reality check on not being so concerned about petty things.

I noticed the same thing. But who could blame them? I'd be brain-dead too if I had to worked in a store all day.

Thank you for saying what has always crossed my mind. The "just looking" part annoys me to hell and all I've said is hello. Why do customers forget that they should also be polite and considerate when entering a store? Customer service is mentally and emotionally draining at times.

When you are busy at work all day you don't always have time to check the time and if you say "Good Morning " and it's actually 12:05 some smart ass will tell you that "it's not morning," or some equally lame comment and so you get sick of hearing that so you just drop it all together and say "Hello" or "Hi" or "Can I help you find something?" because you literally don't care if it's morning or afternoon because it is irrelevant to helping the customer.
