Happy 40th

Wife was cheating on me so I divorced her. She has our three kids 5 days a week and I am paying child and spousal support. Its so much that I had to move back in with my parents while she gets to live in the house I worked so hard to buy. I have to walk on eggshells around her because she can just make up some story about abuse or something and then I ll never see my kids again. She's threatened this several times to get her way on things. The laws are completely against men and my advice to any man is to never get married because it can turn south real fast.

That sucks. Kids deserve both parents.

she's got a Legion of female support groups to help her make your life a living hell...if she so chooses. It's what you call options, how many do you have ?

The laws are completely sexist I agree. That said why can’t you file for 50% cusdity? Get a better lawyer and pay less if you have them half the time.

Is the answer to all the "confessions" by women wondering why/complaining about how men rarely approach them and rarely want to date them, especially in Vancouver.........

Other side of the coin

My husband cheated on me and left me with 2 young children. I had always been the only bread winner - he was in the arts and always unemployed. His income looked promising when we were dating but dried up literally right after we got married. I paid for all of the house and other expenses working full time, with a bit financial help from my parents. He did not give my one cent of child or spousal support ever because he had low income for tax purposes. I did not have a break from child rearing because he never took the kids for a weekend but moved to another country. My children lived with the trauma of abandonment. So, girls, I recommend being very careful who you marry or don't do it at all.

did you not have to pay court ordered spousal support to your husband ?.....give him half of the marital assets ?

Don't close yourself off the joys of marriage because of a one bad apple. (BTW married in Canada is simply living with someone about a year then your considered common law)

If your ex likes to threaten you the easiest solution is to record all conversations. Smartphones have made this easy.

@Stay open....I agree with your comment about relationships but thought I should mention that under the section 3 of Family Law Act, a couple must live together in a marriage-like relationship for two (2) continuous years before they are considered common-law.

On what date did i become a party to the family law act? Maybe it's all a hoax, a very profitable one? Did I fill in a form or something?
