Red Flag

This guy asked me out and we went for coffee and we hit it off pretty well. The thing is when we were paying for our coffee's he offered and his debit card and credit card got declined so I ended up paying for everything with my credit card. He said that the bank probably ran out of money or something. Its not as if we went to some expensive restaurant. It was Starbucks and I ordered a tall which is like $2.25. There won't be a second date because I don't ask for much but at the very least be honest and have enough money to pay for a coffee when asking out a woman and not lying to me

Okay that is actually really pathetic and a pathetic excuse. You dodged one! Next!

Okay that's pretty fuckin' bad. I get that this is the most expensive city in Canada, but if you can't pay for a couple coffee's then your life needs to be adjusted. It's worse when your credit card company won't give you any money. If I go passed my credit limit VISA just gives me more money lol but I'm 32 and debt free now. How many people can say that? Maybe you and I should go for coffee..nah, let's go for a drink and dinner. I'll buy.

What if it was just some glitch? A genuine malfunction of this poor guys cards, or he was entering the wrong password... whatever. Women are constantly complaining about how awful men are, and how hard it is to meet a good guy. Well here he is, you 'hit it off'! So rather than giving him another chance, just to see if indeed the bank cards were a mistake (maybe, maybe not, who knows. You sure don't), you're going to throw in the towel, and this guy you hit it off with, for the price of 2 Starbucks coffees?

I don't generally buy into the whole Vancouver women are shallow and just looking for a man w money. But sure enough here you are. I hope the guy finds a genuine, intelligent woman.

You know sometimes banks fuck up...

Exhibit A: I asked for a new bank card, registered it online and guess what, online banking wiped my account clean and it took a week for them to bring it all back. Bank error 404...

I had ZERO funds for a week but they made up for it. Of course my lady at the time just blasted me and didn't help so I fired her, wasn't like I spent my $40,000.oo in day.

You and most western women look at the glass half empty or no glass at all, that could have been your chance to share an awkward moment that could have been a connecter instead of a leg closer. Moments last forever and nobody remembers the good moments unless you have humility.

"Hey remember our first date? Ya I was so embarrassed but you know ten years later we laugh about it" because we hit it off day one.

Nope... Glass is empty. Most (not all ) Vancouver Women do not like something or anything that gets messed up so he is automatically a liar and a LOSER. Not a perfect moment fuck him.

Learn humility, you're going to need it when you hit 40 y/o and repost this.

You failed his "is this woman a possible wife test."

We used to use the lock test but cars have auto locks so it's coffee now.

ya but its just a coffee and maybe they will get the next one. If you had a really good time, you can see what happens with the bill next time.

I know this dude...

he's a closeted millionaire...your loss young lady.

Jumping to conclusions

As a woman, I don't want the guy to pay the bill all the time, and usually offer to alternate who picks up the tab. I also occasionally offer to pay for colleagues and acquaintances. I wouldn't mind paying for something small like a coffee even on a first date, as long as I don't think someone is trying to take advantage of me. Here it would seem like a bit of a stretch that he would do this intentionally or that he'd be so broke as to not being able to afford a coffee (unless he's homeless). It seems more likely that it's an issue with the bank or his card. It must have been really embarrassing for him. I wouldn't be offended by the card issue but by the fact that he didn't offer to make up for it on another date.

Maybe next time go with the idea that you're going to pay for your own shit. This isn't fucking 1950. Just saying. I bet you're fairly independent about everything else.
