Smokers

On a bus. I found a good seat, and then a smelly smoker sat next to me. I confess that I hate the smell of smoke, and especially stale smoke. I know it's an addiction, but something about this smell..... Months or years of tar infusing someone's coat into a rank odour... That just drives me nuts. On top of it, the guy pulls put a breath mint! Dude, you need more than a breath mint! For any smokers out there, I sincerely hope you can quit. For to your sake and for others! Now my hair will reek for the rest of the day. :( ew.

I was right there with you until the overly judgemental ending.

I'm working on quitting smoking with an e-cig. I still love the smell of a freshly-lit cigarette, and I probably always will.

Or at the very least they can WASH their clothes!!! I have asthma and have actually started a major coughing fit just from standing or sitting next to one of these smelly smokers . I'm always shocked at how they don't seem to even notice that they smell so bad! Many of these people (men and women both) are well-dressed professionals but they smell like they just crawled out of an ashtray. It's beyond disgusting.

I understand. I'm a smoker and I hate people who smell of smoke like that. It's gross. I don't smell like that because I know why people smell like that. When you exhale you must exhale away from you. If wind is blowing at you you should turn around so the wind carries the exhaled smoke away from your body/clothes. It's real simple science here. The wet air we have will make the smoke stick to you so just be careful and blow the smoke away in the wind.

It’s gross but your hair isn’t going to smell. You’re overreacting. My bf is a smoker and I hate it but I can handle it every night. You can suck it up for one bus ride.

It never used to bother me, that rank smoker odour. Then again, I used to work on a farm. Diesel tractors, 2-stroke gas motors, chicken coops...people smoking ciggies was not a big deal.

Now I practically fall over if someone lights up within 100 feet of me.

We are wimps!

And I'm not a smoker. But I find your over-doused cologne and rank B.O. just as distasteful. I don't think this kind of thing is limited to smokers. Plenty of people stink in this world. Get over yourself.

yeah, it stinks.
at least he DID use a breath mint and was somewhat aware of his smell and being around other people. when you have that kind of reek on you, it's hard to tell becasue you are used to the smell and you get desiensitized, sort of like those ladies WHO WEAR TOO MUCH PERFUME.
i highly doubt that he would be able to make YOU smell when you got off teh bus, lol.

If anti-smokers could see what babies they are, whining about something that's essentially none of their business, this world would be a far better place.

Do keep going on so self-righteously, anti-smokers. As you get older you will become either a whining old turd that no one likes, or else an uber-wonderful perfect asshole who...no one likes.

Yours, a non-judgmental non-smoker.

Here's an idea.. wash your hair. I think you're being dramatic. I don't like the smell of smoke either but you're not going to smell like smoke for the rest of the day.. lol
