Unearned superiority complex

I'm so frustrated with having to constantly listen to the smug superiority attitude of so many people who have truly not earned their financial wellbeing in life. Too many fail to remember that the ONLY reason that they're financially comfortable now, is entirely because of the assistance that they got from somewhere or someone else. Family help, a lottery win, a huge settlement from their or their partner's car accident, whatever. It seems that once someone gets used to being privileged, they fail to remember what created it. I know someone who would never have had the ability to purchase their condo unless their mother had given them the down payment and cosigned the mortgage. And yet now they act superior for having no mortgage and paying it off. This is typical of so many! I know young people who's parents bought their first place outright. The majority of us actually have to bust our asses to do for ourselves, and in my humble opinion, that counts for a whole lot more in the end. True achievement isn't just being lucky enough to have a wealthy parent, partner, or cashing in on a (usually non-life threatening) car accident. I'm truly happy for those of my friends and acquaintances who have been lucky enough to be so blessed, but please don't act all superior because you own a home and someone else doesn't. You had a LOT of help.

Stop being superior about having to tough it out in a different way. Nothing wrong is a family helping out their children, and you don't know how hard the children work, they perhaps are also busting their ass just like you (but they had help).
As long as you are thankful, there is nothing wrong with perhaps being luckier. But acting like you somehow are better off morally or have a better work ethic? Ugh, that's a pretty stupid generalization.
I am one of those people whose family helped me buy my apartment. My work ethic and humble income is nothing to scoff at. Yes, I am grateful every day, and no, I don't pretend for a second I didn't get help. The parents who helped are often also people who busted their asses off all their lives and chose to help their children. Not all money is dirty or corrupt.

You seem to be jealous.

Just let those people ride their high horse!
It's probably the closest and only thing they will be able to feel successful about in their lives.

Yeah but society as a whole stole a pretty good piece of land from the Indians. Where wold any of us be without Canada's natural resources. See what I'm doing there?
