I wonder if you are not looking at it from an angle that puts the responsibility in the wrong place. Companies are workplaces. It's where people gather to do work together. "They" are not nannies or parents. As a company owner, I value the people I work with, I follow the rules, but I cannot think about things like "Billy is upset today, better get him counselling". Billy needs to come in ready to work. If he needs counselling, he should not be at work, but in counselling. Mental health issues are not easy to understand and not being a professional, Billy should therefore go to a professional.

For the record, I am not trying to be mean. But honestly, things are getting ridiculous, take care of your own shit. Get to work, do your work well, go home. I am not your mommy.
