This place is a hundred years in the making of that place. Your basically trading the younger version for the old decrepit version. A nasty filthy prison instead of mountainous vapid prison.

Vancouver's an open air prison for me, also. I have an obligation as an adult to stay but if I was 10 or 20 years younger, I wouldn't be caught dead here.

You should just go then. I don't mean that in a "love it or leave it" way, because that's just dickish. I mean, if you don't like it here, find a way to get somewhere you do like. I spent 10 years overseas and it changed me for the better. I sacrificed my long-term financial stability to do it, but I wouldn't trade it for a million dollars. The only way to do it sometimes is to just throw caution to the wind and go.
