deep struck

I recently ended my common law marriage of 16 years. The worst part was I do still love her ..... blah blah! Not what I'm getting at. We been apart now about 4 months now and i miss her to bits. Unfortunately what bothers me the most is my brothers suicide that happened long before we met. For reasons unexplained I cant believe that this terrible situation has more taken priority over my life than the ending of a 16 year relationship. So, lost still in my thoughts of grief ? After all these years? Is that normal?
Thanks for letting me ask the question.

Yes. unresolved issues can ruin everything. I too had a wonderful woman in my life but a horrible car accident reared it's ugly head nine years later and ruined us. Physio missed a few things it would seem.
Never say thank you for asking a question, the door is always open.
I work in the DTES , I see unresolved issues every day that ruin the lives of our people.

Time doesn’t heal by itself, it’s what you do with the time that can be healing.

16 years is nothing compared to losing someone you've known your entire life.

It's paramount to overcoming suicide. Time doesn't heal all wounds, it conceals them.
