I have been experiencing intense, unexpressed feelings of anger and hate

and I'm so drained. I want to unearth the root of the issue, and I want to transform these feelings into something productive and positive. Time to do more work on myself, much as it scares me.

Sorry to hear that. It sounds awful. You might be interested to check out the buddhist perspective. Pema Chodron and thich nhat hanh speak a lot about trying to stay with being uncomfortable with these huge feelings. Thich nhat hanh also has a whole book on anger. Ps. Don't be afraid to talk to a good counselor, they could really help you.
