I voted Liberal, not for Communist-Manifesto-Hairpiece-Yuppie

I'm a bit chapped. It still bothers me that he praised Castro. Castro is a man who put people in pits in the ground. :( Sorry to rant and rave here, but I guess this might be allowed here? He's going to go surfing, helicoptering, and other ridiculous stuff while we struggle with housing, jobs, and inflation. This sure feels like a period of socialism is just starting-- though I have never lived through it. The leaders were always well-dressed, popular (populist, perhaps?), but greedy. I guess we voted him in though. That is democracy... perhaps diluted by corporatism though. I have no idea what I believe in anymore. This is just twist-and-turn in my stomach. Anyways, a rant! Again, sorry.

It's not even...

... communism or socialism, which was about worker-control, and, in many views, the eventual withering away of the state.

What we have now is a state of "permanent revolution" with LGBQT/Minorities/etc. as the "permanent proletariat," who will always need a violent, authoritarian state to make them "feel safe." And while these small fractions of the population are being given preferential hiring, easy paper-pushing jobs, etc. the rest of the population will starve.

The appropriate term for it is "Rainbow Fascism." Rainbow Fascism came to BC in 1991/92, with the UBC Calendar, which, without any statutory or customary authority, prohibited "harassment and discrimination." These changes were then made public in 1993 with a revision of the Human Rights Code which eliminated free speech and writing, which had been explicitly protected in the code since 1968, but that is not the source of free speech and writing, free speech and writing exist because to remove them is to reduce an individual to the state of chattel slave---you're either going to control the local motion of his hands, breaking them, so he cannot write, or you're going to control the local motion of his throat, choking him, so he cannot speak.

You need to remember what your ancestors believed ten thousand years ago. Your ancestors 10,000 years ago were not "undereducated" about "gender studies," they were brilliant compared to us. They survived in harsh conditions, without _any Government at all_ to make them "Feel Safe." Your right hand is your law, your law evolved along with you; University policies and textbooks are not laws.

What we need to oppose this is to restore legal protection for free expression along with re-legalizing the native american drugs like mescaline that allow people to speak freely---LSD, mescaline, psilocybin, etc. these are "liberogens," that is, they are liberty-generating drugs. That is why they are prohibited, they liberate you from the nonsense that authoritarians laid on you.

No need to be sorry.

Your points are excellent. And very likely true.

Trudeau 2.0 is turning out to be an all flash, low substance tyro. Not a whole lot unlike his father.

Come on

Even if you don't like him, you know any PM must work very long hours every day with massive responsibilities, must be "on" constantly, and needs a vacation like everyone else. Hopefully next time it won't be on a private island, and he's learned about optics. But you know he's NOT surfing all day, and you make the comment anyway. Juvenile whining.

Well

The only difference between him and any other PM is that technology and the media make it impossible for him to do anything without it being posted. I promise you, all the other pms before him have ridden in helicopters, gone surfing, has children, etc.

Also I’d give yourself a good read on socialism.

Tax and spend liberal

He also called David Suzuki's views on climate change, 'sanctimonious crap'. Politics is a balancing act. We can't have mass job loss, especially in conservative Alberta ;) The invisible hand of the market is a myth. The Americans who preach this nonsense give away 100 billion in corporate welfare a year according to the Cado institute, do you think Canada is going to be different?

It would probably take a revolution but...

What we need is term limits for all members of government, and supreme court judges. And no jet setting perks around the world on extravagant vacations, unless it's coming out of their own paychecks. Otherwise, they can go vacation at something similar to Camp David that they have in the US. Throw a golf course on a military base. Have some secured government vacation homes by a lake within Canada. Serving in government shouldn't be a career option. It should be a term of service like a military draft, that you'll be glad that it's over when your term is up as if you just finished jury duty. And corporate donations, and donations over say $5,000 should be strictly forbidden. They problem with government, is they're all way to corrupt, and they think of themselves as royalty, over all the peasants. That has to stop.

Calling Trudeau, who has been nothing if not Harper-lite, a communist speaks to your education, not his political stance.
You may as well call Harper a communist, for all the sense your statement makes.
Also, in Castro's entire 50 plus year reign, less than 300 people were killed by the state, and all of them had been given some sort of out, before that happened. More people are put to death annually in the states, by legal authorities, than were killed as a result of Castro's revolution.
Harper took as many vacations as Trudeau. In fact, one year, he took over 200 people on a winter vacation to South Africa under the pretense of honouring Mandala, the same Mandala Harper worked to keep imprisoned.
As for Trudeau's political and social leanings, I wish they were a lot more left of center, and a lot less pro-corporate subservience. It would be better for Canada.
But here's the good news. Adult Education is now free in BC. You can register at your local community college, and take courses that include an introduction to Political Science, where you can learn what a communist actually is.

Instead of electing people to public office why not select them directly from the confessions page? Everyone here is such an expert in everyone else's affairs! Surely these message board experts would do a much better job, what with their vast experience and political wisdom.
