We should block the shipment of China-made cowboy hats to Calgary before the Stampede!

Tens of thousands of professionals have lost their jobs and livelihoods. These are people with families. Peolples dreams and ambitions have been destroyed. The Canadian economy is losing 32 billion a year because we have to sell oil at a discount. Everyone is losing out.
You consume oil but dont want to support Canada's biggest industry and automatically make uneducated statements and negative stigmas against oil - the very product you use - while peoples lives are falling apart and other countries are capitalizing on what we are missing out as a country.
32 billion a year lost - hundreds of millions in tax revenue. Tens of thousands careers destroyed.. Think about that. Get your head out of the sand or whatever lollipop land youre in. You use oil. Yet you sht on the peoples whose livelihood depends on it and kick them when they are down.
Its hypocritical. Enviroment vs energy demand is a balance not a war.

Ban Chinese made products. We have the workers and the resources. Local business is key to the survival of any community or country.

There is much to agree with you.
But 100s of millions of tax on 32 billion? Yup, we need to stop subsidizing big oil. If that means taking our neighbors and allies to court so be it. No other industry could get away with those numbers.
I know, I know, you were just pulling that out of yer 10 gallon, but you were inadvertently pretty close to the reality.

Actually, we drive electric. Yes, yes.... oil is everywhere blah blah. It's not sustainable and the more reason to invest in renewable energy. It is a dirty form of oil. The amount of resources that go into refining it and making it useful drives the breakeven point up, meaning we don't make much money from it.
