Sketchy days

I have been single for over a year now. I've got a couple of close friends, and a cat that awaits me every evening from work. However, I am absolutely miserable. I've tried all possible dating apps and social events, and whenever I would meet someone new, I get instantly disappointed. Not by the looks, but the attitude of most people. Last night I went to a date, and that person only wanted to get into my pants. Or that time when I met a person on meth. Or that time when I met a person that would always frown when I speak and point at my accent. It's a such a lonely and sketchy city.

Are you lonely because you are single? Get over it, and start living your life. So sick of people moaning about being lonely. Ask a co-worker to a movie or a coffee. Stop whining. I have been in this city for 30 years. I rent, have friends, am good with my money and I'm happy. Stop blaming the city, because wherever you go there you are.

Maybe try to just meet people before dating them? She quickly became my best friend, so much as my "girlfriend."

Bullshit to all the comments above. Vancouver sucks ass, and I'm sick of it. It's like you have to subscribe to all the 'best place on Earth' bullshit, and for the most part, people here are very shallow and tend to be in various hipster varieties. I'm going elsewhere and not looking back, and so are/have many people that would otherwise waste their youth here.
