Holding the door open, as if it is the 1990s -- Yes, it is relevant.

Because I am a man and I hold the door open for other men because I want to suppress them and keep them down. It will lower their earning power (somehow magically).

Chivalry is lost

The Marxist-Feminist Cultural Revolution is destroying basic human dignity and respect. It is crushing truth, beauty, freedom and love....and they are blind to the havoc they are creating.
During the Maoist Cultural Revolution the virtue of civility was viewed as "bourgeois hypocrisy." Today with the current Marxist-Feminist Cultural Revolution, virtues are seen as oppression by the patriarchy and colonialism.

... hold the door open for people, I think anyone who thinks door-holding is some sort of sexist gesture or anything other than common courtesy is over-socialized, and not in a good way.

Doors etc

Out of courtesy if a guy is close behind me while going into a store,I'll give the door an extra push or jam my heel by the hinge so it stays open. 99% of the time I'll get a thanks.
For a while I did the same for women,I'd get a thanks about 5% of the time-they expect you to do it. I haven't held a door for a woman-unless elderly- for many years now...

I hold doors for everybody. And I'm a woman. I don't expect a thanks. It's ridiculous how you make holding doors for people (a matter of simple courtesy) into such a big deal. Somehow, you think only men do it? And you expect a thanks? Pathetic.

I'm also a woman and do the exact same thing out of courtesy. I don't expect a thank you, I just do it because its polite.

On the topic of being polite and courteous...it is also polite and courteous to respond in kind.
To not respond in recognition of a courtesy...pathetic.
