I want to hang with people but nothing is going on in my life and i'm afraid people notice it. but if I just hang out alone all day and have no connections or community at all i'll always have nothing going on in my life. sort of like hang out with people that attract you... but will they even want to hang out with me? my history seems to drag on and bleed into everything..

You need a hobby..

guitar lessons? soccer? softball? sailing? hiking? philosophy discussions? book club? fishing? fitness? weightlifting? martial arts? yoga? volunteer at a soup kitchen?

people will have conversations with those they have things in common to talk about.. a hobby such as this will give you something to talk about... the rest will build itself as you get more interests/activities to keep you occupied in your free time.. or you could still be sitting around complaining this time next year.. seriously it makes all the difference..

I was stuck in the same cycle so I made myself my best friend and now that I'm learning to like my own company other people want in on it.

Making friends is hard in Vancouver but it is impossible anywhere if you don't improve your interpersonal relationship skills and figure out why hanging out with you is worthwhile.

I seem to succumb to deep depression and come out completely alone. I'm there now, just down over the fact that I spend all my time alone. No one calls on me anymore. It hurts and i am worried that I'm just not a very interesting person and nobody cares anymore.

Singles are a growing reality. Be yourself. Grow you as much as you can. If you need friends they'll find you. Grow big and strong and how can they miss you?
