The Canadian dream is the same as the American dream, mostly owning things.

Not everybody is interested in climbing mountains or has the talent to write poetry. This person probably works hard and likes to buy nice things with his or her money. That doesn’t make them a bad person and you shouldn’t be wishing that they die. If you don’t want to talk to them, than tell them straight up you no longer want them in your life.

Well he considers you a friend enough to invite over so yeah I'd say he's a failure.

It's beautiful. Maybe don't wish people would end their lives. You seem like a small person that probably takes pride in far more pathetic things than a new counter top. Besides, it seems like this person just wants to spend time with you.

Even though accumulating material things is not fulfilling or healthy on the long run, hoping people die is even worse. You have serious issues just like your friend.

Why do people assume people must be jealous of material wealth? Is your world so black and white? Are you so shallow? Dig a little deeper. The things we collect are playing roll in killing of the planet. Updating your phones, cars etc... Where do you think the resouces to manafacture this stuff come from? The co2 by the ton shipping etc... All of this subsidized by future generations. Derp, you're just jealous.
