HMV >Victoria's Secret

Everytime I see the Victoria's secret store off of Robson, I take it as such a huge eyesore. I really miss the HMV, and the act of going to a media store, viewing the product in my hand, and purchasing from a clerk who will shoot the breeze with you about obscure music factoids or whatever else. There was a community vibe.
Now, it's a distribution center for strips of cloth that barely cover female (mostly) genitalia. Huge contrast! Maybe it's the contrast that bugs me the most: from something that brings me joy, to something that...err...yah. I would be more appeased if they had not turned it into a vs, but maybe a pub/brewing company.
But I get it. Supply and demand and the nature of economics. A sad reminder that the world keeps on moving despite my mind wanting to hold onto things.

The library that was there before the record store.

It used to be a library. Back when Vancouverites still read books.

HMV didn't have a community vibe you geek. Only independent record stores did/do.
weird place

or maybe just weird people. Why do some women, who presumably would prefer not to be objectified, spend insane amounts of money on lingerie designed to objectify them?

I don't miss the HMV. Not one bit. It was full of overpriced crap. I was browsing there once and found a DVD I wanted (Psycho Beach Party) that was around $40.00!! You can get it at amazon for half as much. I also prefer to get music from itunes so I don't have to pay over $20.00 for an entire album with one good song on it.
And I don't need to "shoot the breeze" with the teenage employees who listen to music I can't stand.
I'm glad the Victoria's Secret replaced it. Whenever I'm on Robson street, I like seeing what new items are in there when I pass by. It's like being a kid walking past a candy store.
The problem isn't economics, its that you're kind of a frigid prude.

Lol, calm down. But to address the only worthy topic on your comment, economics has everything to do with it. Educate yourself. Lookup the impact of Amazon, and you will realize that there are larger economic factors involved. Your all bark, but no bite.
Yeah.

I miss CD stores too, BUT seriously Lingerie gives me great joy. It is so beautiful to look at. Oh yeah.

HMV was only there for like a year. It was Virgin Megastore for like 10 years before that
