But I have the secret to the never-ending chore of cleaning your own place. Everyone HATES house-cleaning. The bathroom, the windows, etc. So the secret is do a little every day. I have floor to ceiling windows in three rooms in my place. Clean a couple of panes at a time, takes 10 minutes and then go back to personal enjoyment. A little bit every day folks, whether it's the windows, the bathroom, the vacuuming, etc. It works folks, not such a depressing chore when you tackle it a bit every day and your home is ALWAYS clean! BTW, I'm a single 65 year old guy.

I recently treated myself to a new battery charged vacuum that is easy to simply pull out and zip around the house for quick cleans.

Waiting for the kettle to boil..? Vacuum the hallway

Waiting for hubby to get ready to leave the house..? Vacuum the kitchen

Waiting for bath to fill..? Spritz the sink with cleanser and give a quick wipe

It's amazing how these little things add up!

I think it's much more efficient to do everything in one day than a little bit everyday. I hate it so much that it's a great mental cost for me just to do a small chore. I'd rather spend just one day doing it all day, then I can save all other days to do other productive things or just to enjoy myself. It just ruins my entire day even when I only do it for a little bit.

I've often reminded myself of this very way of cleaning but I get lazy. After I read your post, I started again. I think it will stick this time. Yesterday, I vacuumed and cleaned off the kitchen counter. This morning before I got in the shower, I spritzed the wall and floor with cleanser and sponged it down. Tonight when I get home, I'll clean the bathroom mirror and wipe down the bathroom countertop. Thank you for reminding me that I don't have to live like a slob, haha!
