Mental health

My job makes me want to kill myself. I get treated so poorly every day it makes me feel like garbage. So I'm finding work elsewhere that's not as stressful and quitting that shit hole. Here's to mental health.

Toxic Workplaces

Being in a great position with decent pay and benefits never makes up for a bad work environment. When looking for something new, take your time, and be sure to ask pointed questions about the work climate when you interview. Request a few minutes to speak with staff you'll have close contact with, rather than just your supervisor that's interviewing you. It's fair to ask about office hierarchy, dispute resolution and turnover; those answers should help you figure out if your new opportunity is a step-up from your current situation. I had no idea how bad life can feel in a toxic workplace, until I got out of those places. I wouldn't trade my new healthy environment for more money or a better title, or even a shorter commute.

Good suggestions, except: why would a toxic workplace tell you the truth when you ask these “pointed” questions?
