Advertisers Take Note
posted June 12th, 2018 at 2:13 PM
I AM NOT going to sit through a minute and a half of ads to view a video I had clicked on that I was interested in seeing.
10 or 15 seconds, maybe, anything over that you've lost me, and I'd say pretty much the rest of the world.
Anyone else care to weigh in on this? Maybe we can open up the eyes of some idiots out there ;)

I posted a rant

about this very insidious trend that I noticed, just about a month back.
They're all doing it now, even CBC, BBC and especially Global
It started off with the ability to skip the Ad after maybe 10 seconds but now it's at least 30 seconds.
I won't fucking well watch as it's usually empty shit anyways.
It looks like the major papers won't let Google use their headlines for free anymore so now we also get updates from the Keremeos Review or The Delta Reporter.
So , if you come upon a site that has compulsory Ads, click away from it immediately and the bean counters will quickly get the message

Yes, and now sites are shoving those messages at us noting they've detected an ad blocker. I leave. Sorry, my brain is not open access either.

What’s worse

What’s even worse are the ones that not only run an ad at the beginning, but also actually stop the video in progress to run more ads! I’m so fed up that I’ve completely stopped watching YouTube and rarely watch any videos posted by my friends for the same reason.
