Japanese Cheesecake

There is this new place that sells Japanese cheesecake in Burnaby and has super long lineups. For those of you that have tried it, is it worth waiting hours in line just to get one? Is there somewhere else to get it? I walked by there yesterday and it smelled soooo good but I don't want to stand in line for hours. They should open another location so the wait time isn't unreasonable.

... that they have carefully calculated how many to produce so that a line forms, giving the appearance of it being excellent!

In Japan they'll pay people to stand in line to make a new business look like it's the most incredible delectable on the planet. It's the oldest trick in the Japanese book.
My 2 cents

Over rated...not worth wait to me. Some others love it though. To each their own.
Store opens at 10am M-F. I would start waiting at 9am. This would make the wait about 1 hr. If you start lining up after 10am the wait will be at least 1 1/2 hrs or longer.
Make sure you pick up the Madeline cakes. I heard they are very good.
You can only purchase one cake per person.
Tsk tsk

This company just very recently opened their first Western Canadian location. Why would they open any other locations until after the novelty has died down and they know their actual longterm demand? Exclusivity is a selling point because you certainly noticed.

But for most of those people waiting in long lines for food trends IS the point. If you don't get it that's probably a good thing.

No it’s not worth lining up for. Wait for the lines to die down

Very good cheesecake. Made in the true "samurai breakfast" tradition. It tastes like a shower under Hokusai's wave with a hint of Mifune's bravado, and a finish as smooth as Nonami Takizawa's lines...Go join the line!
