At least one Vancouverite has proven to be as ignorant as some people think we are

On the morning of May 23rd I unintentionally left a pair of prescription sunglasses on the Knight Street (#22) bus. I know I left them on the bus because I had them when I got on the bus but did not have them after I got off the bus. When I realized what had happened I reported the "loss" to Coast Mountain's Lost & Found that afternoon. I have been to the Lost & Found at Stadium Station and phoned the Lost & Found several times. Sadly, these glasses have never been turned in. Why not?!?! These sunglasses are no good to anybody else but me. I doubt that whoever found them has the exact same prescription as me. I hope that whoever found them, and decided to keep them, suffers from blurred vision, dizzy spells, headaches & nausea. That's the door prize for wearing prescription glasses when you don't need to. These glasses originally cost me $730 and it's going to cost me $950 to replace them. So thank you to the ignorant person that found them for not doing the right thing & turning them in. You are a shining example of a selfish ass.

It happened to me years ago in a ferry no less. Except the lost and found at BC Ferries told me someone had already claimed them, apparently without even describing the glasses or the case! People can be such jerks.

Is it possible that maybe they were never turned in? Suggestion, having left prescription glasses on an airplane once, put your business card inside the glass case. Write on it "If found please call the number on the front" also draw a red arrow pointed toward your number.
Maybe someone stepped on them

Who would turn in broken sunglasses? Maybe getting one of those glasses ropes that goes behind your neck would help.
Sorry, but

I have very expensive glasses too because I’m -10 in both eyes, so I feel your pain. I hope it’s just a matter of time before they show up in the lost and found.

Who said somebody took your sunglasses. More likely, if anybody found them, they didn't care to turn them in. Also, unless you do some outdoor sports, sunglasses are a luxury more than anything. For years, I couldn't afford a pair of prescription sunglasses. I finally got one 2 years ago by shopping online: I got them for $50 USD. Yep, I'm sorry for local optometrists but I can't afford overpriced glasses/sunglasses when I can get several pairs for a fraction of their price by shopping online. Now, I'm not afraid of losing or breaking my glasses anymore.

To those who keep saying they spent too much money on glasses -- keep quiet. Buying glasses especially prescription sunglasses is rarely cheap. Especially when your eye sight is quite bad.

I like how you lost your $1k glasses, and somehow, without even knowing the whole story, or even a part of it, it's everyone else's fault. Go look in the mirror next time you want to call someone a selfish ass.
