You mean gentrification? The moment you use "hipster" you just sound bitter and insecure.

Clean it up, Sure...But I've experienced and also seen how these "new faces in our neighborhood" look at and treat us. Some of these people have been down here for years, and don't have market housing and live in SRO buildings or are homeless. We don't have jobs selling over priced juice with fucking weird ingredients to people...
And now with these people coming and trying to push us and our lifestyles out; for example, "the merch block" - where people often sell items for cheap just to supplement the low rate of welfare. But you want to fuck that up for them, too.
Quit looking down on us, and stop fucking trying to change every little aspect of the DTES!! I agree that there does need to be a level of understanding between us and "them", and drug users really should never leave behind their used sharps, we have resources here in abundance for drug users. But it would be fucking awesome if you people could just do your thing, and let us do ours, and wipe that snotty ass look off your face .
Oh ya. And DON'T EVER BITCH ABOUT SMOKEYS ARTWORK, AND LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE ! you should be honored he decided to paint there. Stupid
