Politics are such a turn-off

I was on OkCupid and she said my pronoun is "they". Ugh... Even if I am queer, I don't want to get into these piddly conversations about politics and how I have to position myself one way while I speak. Ugh. Fuck my life. Dating just got harder.

Grown-ups discuss politics.

PC is a dealbreaker

If someone is so thin-skinned, you want no part of them anyway.
To someone like that, the gender of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (male, for the uninitiated) is a sexist plot. The crazy is extreme and obvious, sexual preference (or, indeed anything else) immaterial.
Yawn, stretch, move on.

The topic of politics is absolutely not the same as PC.
Political and philosophical ideas (in the abstract) can be fascinating to debate.
That opens a conversation up. PC shuts it down. Just one more way for some to control others.

If you think they are being ridiculous and irritating, I guarantee they don’t want to date you. Problem solved!

Also pronouns are an identity thing, not a politics thing.

No, THEY said THEIR pronoun is they. I'm glad you're removing yourself from their life, because they don't deserve to be disrespected by you.

But...

Why does she get to decide what pronoun you want to identify with? If you want to be a he or she, she should respect that. If she wants to be a they, you should respect that as well. But for her to TELL YOU you're a they...

What annoys me most is people who say, "How dare you assume my gender??" Why can't they politely tell people their preferred pronoun first, then get angry if they don't correct themselves thereafter? People can't read minds.

Gender Trenders...

Same experience, and I also started avoiding lesbian events once they began to let straight men into the women's washroom. NOT trans...straight men. "Gender free" just mean the removal of women only spaces and freedoms. Very anti-women.
