broken wrist

It hurts like crap, and I'm bungling along as best as I can at work with a cast, luckily on my left arm, so I can still write. This is essentially your fault, COV, because of the decline and three-year lack of lanscaping maintenance in the shrubs that line the roadway and bike lane out front of my home. Since the brambles and vines extend so far into the roadway, people have to drive / ride down the middle oif the road, lest they get hit by blackberry thorns or low-hanging branches from the unkempt trees. So for the last year or so, I've taken it upon myself to try and clean up the crap and cut things back, a little bit at a time. But on Tiuesday, I lost a battle with a resistant blackberry bramble, fell, and broke my wrist in the process. City of Vancouver, if you'd do your job like you used to, and send landscape crews to keep the shrubs back from the curb and the trees pruned, I wouldn't be in so much f-ing pain and unable to do my own job. The specific area I'm referring to is along Kent Avenue near River District. COV - send out a crew, because I can't do any more of your work for 6-8 weeks.

Oh yeah, it’s the city’s fault that you put yourself in a dangerous situation and fell on your ass. Get real

You'll have to check

The guy driving the truck makes $35 an hour and his 2 helpers make $30+ an hour, and there's many, many trucks like this.
How much work do you really expect them to get get done on a paltry $100 an hour?

COV is too busy using your property taxes to give themselves massive pay raises! You think your taxes actually pay for services?!...lol.

Despite the fact that I have all of the time in the world for the OP, this is a load of codswollop.

Your wrist broke because you're getting older. Deal with it!

I just wish I could be there to witness you when you get old. For one thing, you have no idea what age the Op is. Your post smacks of the type of ignorant and arrogant ageism that’s so prevalent in our society. One day you too will be old, if you’re lucky enough, and your completely human body is going to break down. Hopefully by then you’ll have acquired some kind of humility. Until then, take a hike.

...you do realize there’s an actual and very easy process to report overgrown bushes and vegetation on city property, right? Instead of complaining about how no one is doing anything, just send them a request(you can even send a picture of the area!). If no one complains or reports, they’re not going to waste resources paying someone to drive around and find these things.
And if your next thought is along the lines of “someone probably has/should/will complain to them” , then you are clearly someone who wants to blame others for your problems, as you’re taking all responsibility for your own happiness out of your hands. Please learn that we all need to take more personal responsibility and that involves being involved in our community.
