Affordable housing for all

Is obviously what's needed but that will take both public resolve plus time to implement. It is commendable that Canada supports U.N. refugee camps in other parts of the world but what about our own growing, increasingly desperate homeless population? In some jurisdictions tent cities are allowed. In others places they are not & the homeless have no choice but to try their best to survive under even more difficult circumstances. Surely if Canada can sponsor U.N. refugee camps we can do the same domestically and have well regulated places with kitchens, medical, sanitation and even-handed law enforcement.

Ah yes, but don’t forget

I couldn’t agree more, but don’t forget that our government seems to be so much more focused on looking good on the world stage as soon ch a caring and generous country, than it does on actually taking care of those citizens who are already here. If most people had any idea of just HOW skewed things are in BC in favour of immigrants and refugee claimants you’d be freaking out. The amount of money being spent to provide free (or extremely subsidized) services and housing for people who aren’t even citizens, would absolutely blow your mind. There are extremely wealthy overseas people who are using our social services, educational, and medical system for their children by getting citizenship for one person who has “zero” income (of course they know how easy it is to avoid paying taxes and therefore be considered “poor”, by having any real assets put in the name of infants, students, “housewives”, senior citizens, or numbered companies), and then they can claim that they qualify for these services without charge because of low income. It’s beyond disgusting and the rest of us are paying for it. It makes me want to leave Canada for good.

So others should work harder so you can have a nice comfortable life? I'm glad the right is making a comeback in Canada where personal responsibility means something.
