Breaks my heart

I've found out the majority of my neighbours in my apartment use the food bank. I also found out some of my coworkers use the food bank and are financially struggling to get by. This all breaks my heart.

Feel liberated.

You now enjoy the reality of the real world.

Doomed are those 1%ers with their silly money.

Meh.

When I first got here I landed a job making $17.50 an hour and somehow made it work. If they're shit at making a budget then I don't have much sympathy. I'm guessing that if they wrote down everything they blew cash on in a week they would find some thing to cut.

You shouldn't feel bad, you might not be getting the whole picture.
A relative of mine who worked for social services and was a food bank volunteer told me he had to quit after becoming super disillusioned. He said a fair percentage of users roll up in new cars, yacking on the latest phones, dressed head to toe in labels. The food bank is there to take care of their needs so they can otherwise splurge on wants. Maybe that situation is unique to the Surrey Food Bank, but still, don't assume everyone using the food bank does it due to not having other options.

I've worked with and known quite a few people who've complained about not making enough, being broke.
Yet they spend $700 a month on lunch every day, smokes, couple cases of beer on the weekend, dinners out,Starbucks, Mc Donalds etc

lol, I am guilty. Just the fact that I smoke and buy coffee means I am wasting money. I am not going to a foodbank but that would help! Perhaps I should just be more disciplined. You know, cooking my own food, having tea at home, NOT smoking! But meh, Ill die happey...I hope
