I really like this guy at work but I am thinking that I should just only be his friend and stop thinking about asking him out, because it would be awkward seeing him all the time if things didn't work out. He is really funny, has a similar personality to me, and I could picture being his friend for a long time. Almost every time we talk, there is something to laugh about, which is nice. What do you think I should do? I am tired of thinking about this. LOL!

Date a co-worker.
If it doesn’t work out workbecomes hellish.
If it does work out you’ll be seeing too much of each other. Yes, that can happen.

Speaking from personal experience, getting romantically involved with co-workers is generally not a great idea. I would advise against it but it's up to you.
Ever heard of...

You are thinking straight, It has the potential of being awkward if it didn't work out. Just do what you're doing, have fun getting to know him, maybe hang out outside of work... just become good friends. Then, in 6 months or a year from now, you will know without a doubt if you guys are right for each other. Close friends first makes for the best relationship!!

See if you can hang out with him in a more social setting and see if hes into you. If he is I say go for it. Don't live life with regrets.

You should find someone new to be cruel to.
How much do you value your job and workplace?

If you value them highly, I would maintain the status quo.
From my experience, dating in the workplace is not good. You get emotional and sexually charged at work. I know, it feels like fun at first. But when things go South, it’s extremely awkward and you then don’t do your job well, until one of you finally leaves.
You could just continually hang out with said dude and continue to enjoy his company. If you’re ok with the prospect of looking for a new job, then you could take the risk and try and move things forward with a Plan B in mind.
Just don’t

I can speak from experience.... the odds of it working out long term are about the same as for any other relationship I’d imagine. In other words, not that good. Even if it did, chances are that one of you (almost always the woman for some reason) would end up losing your job (ever had to work every day with your SO?), and if it didn’t, chances are even better that one or both of you would lose your job.

you should honestly just tell him. leaving it unsaid will just result in unnecessary hurt for you.
