OCD

I know someone with this disease and this person is hard to deal with a lot of the times. On a daily basis he thinks he’s dying of something. His arm might hurt one day or his chest may have some pain so he goes to see Dr. Google and believes everything he reads because he has those exact symptoms. Oh boy...doesn’t use a microwave because it causes cancer. Clean freak? To the max. Can’t have anything on the floor that doesn’t belong there....bugs the hell out of him so he puts it on something else that’s not the floor. He has issues eating food if he doesn’t know how it was prepared. The list goes on and on and on....

Sounds hilarious.

I have trouble worrying over freaks.

Btw, I have to have my water bottles lined up a certain way...

You think this illness is funny?

My OCD gets so bad at times that I have thought about ending it all just to stop the never ending pain. People don’t choose to have this disease. This is a disease that controls every aspect of your life and slowly destroys any semblance of normality in your daily existence.
Even though you show no compassion for another human beings suffering, I don’t wish this horror on you or anyone in you family.

Me too

Except OCD can manifest in so many different ways. The guy I know absolutely refuses to get medical or dental help no matter what, because he’s convinced they’re out to damage him. He’s got “issues” with virtually everything, similar to the no-microwave thing you describe. The issues change constantly. He claims to be allergic to pretty much anything like all scents, detergents, etc., without any evidence to support it. High maintenance with him doesn’t even begin to describe how hard it is to please him, because you never know what new issue he’s going to come up with, particularly about any kind of chemical. The kicker is that in his own home he’s a complete hoarder and it’s absolutely filthy, and in his industry he is constantly using, breathing in, and covered with, toxic chemicals of all kinds, where he refuses to take any precautions whatsoever. Apparently the “issues” only manifest as long as it’s not HIS house or HIS workplace. Go figure.

Sounds like

You're suffering from a disease called lack of empathy. I hope you are cured some day.

it's a disorder, not a disease. you're ignorant and have literally 0 reason to complain. move on with your life.

Walk a mile...

For those of you who have the disorder, I feel for you. Honestly I do, just like I feel for anyone else who suffers from other types of mental issues. However, the Op is a human being who is also deserving of compassion, and if you think that the intimate partners or friends and family members of someone like this aren’t suffering along with the afflicted person, then clearly you’ve never had to deal with it! It’s so much worse if the person doesn’t acknowledge that they have a problem, because there are treatments available.
