Words have meaning

I've worked for hotels all my life and there is one exchange that I keep having no matter where I work. Guest: "Yes I'd like to put my credit card down to cover all charges for my friend." Me "All charges, including the restaurant and the bar?" Guest "Well not that of course! I meant the room charges." Apparently there are a lot of you who have a different definition of "All Charges" so to educate the rest, yes it means everything!

Well you need to give a credit card in advance for the room as policy and you don't need to give a card in advance to eat or drink at the bar/restaurant so you should assume just room charges in the future...you're welcome.

Get over yourself, If this one of your biggest problems at work - that you have to clarify expenses to guests - and that THAT problem is worth complaining about. Maybe working in a hotel is where you belong in this complex world. I wish that was my biggest problem at work.

I have worked in hotels all my life. The thing I still enjoy is when guests ask me to deliver them their room service while they are in the shower. I always walk away with a big tip.

Well I didn't say this was the biggest problem. My biggest problem is when drunk guests try to assault me for not delivering another drink when they have clearly had enough. I'm simply pointing out that many of you don't listen when I clearly state things. Sorry to have to tell you that you can sign things to the room, it's pretty standard.
