...”Hell is caring about other people.” Yep been living in Hell for far too long. It’s time I stop feeling like everyone deserves more of me than myself.

I’m feeling much the same way lately. Too many years of putting my own feelings and needs last. Seems like suddenly I’m just done with it. I can’t stomach one more person telling me their sob stories or their anger about someone else, but then being completely shut down if I try to do the same. I’m no longer going to try to share anything with the majority of people in my life, and I’ve told them all that I’m just not interested in having any conversations right now that even remotely resemble drama. Just done.

Sartre is great for making things more clear ... And somehow, also much more confusing.

That's just one layer.
The original version of that idea, from Sartre's "No Exit", read "Hell is other people!"
I admit, I've never lived in a place where that was more true.
Many have also pointed out that the less you care (and care about), the happier you are. Emotional investment can give meaning if the object is worthy, but brings only suffering if that is not so.
Invest judiciously, but always go all in when you find something or someone good.
Agreed

That's probably one of the best lines I've heard so far. Yes, you must take care of yourself and stop worrying about other people. The more you make time for yourself and start taking control of your own life, the better.
