Smiley

When people are being facetious electronically and add a little happy face emoticon, it makes me want to punch them in the face.

Iknowrite?
That's actually why I do it. I get the same urge when other people do that, so I pay it forward.
You're welcome.

To you smartasses, I won't be reading comments with emoticons in them.

My impression is that people add the smiley face so that their tone can't be misinterpreted. Too many people get bent out of shape if your email is too direct and to the point.

Maybe...

The smiley face is a way to say, Thank you.
Or they could be happy??

people like you are particularly sensitive, emoticons become necessary for the sender to include so the message they've sent you won't be misinterpreted. :-)

@yourconfession
Well, duh.
That would be at least half of them.
And all of the screeds by vegetarians, meatatarians, Trump trolls, SJWs, hippies, weediots, environazis, entitled douchebags, the ostentatious nouveau-riche, alcoholics, drug addicts, wallflowers, shrinking violets, righteous-raging RE owners, cyclevangelicals, radfems, racists, homophobes, heterophobes, misandrists, misogynists, bikers, those too afraid to make a move, censorious lefties, censorious right-wingers, censorious anarcho-communists, censorious patriots...
Man, I could do this all day.
There's no shortage of annoying people in the world, and the internet allows them to annoy everyone most effectively.
I read offline content - high-quality nonfiction. It's relaxing and helps me sleep. Recommended.

Just please
