they aren't true Christians actually following the teachings of Jesus. They just like to use the bible to promote their own interests, bigotry, misogyny, and racism.

Religion is intolerance. For religious people anyone who does not believe what you believe in is at least an idiot and at worst deserves to die. No wonder people are waking up to the reality that religion is a farce.

The Bible has enough content in it, and obscure phrasing, that you can make it say something quite Zen and soothing, or outrageously violent.

The issue with authoritarian people, in general, is that they have been trained into being that way by their parents and by their life experiences.

If you are progressive, kind, and believe that people are all fundamentally good at heart...you are lucky, believe me. I wish I was still like that.

So many people aren't going to church anymore. Christianity has pretty much become a thing of the past now. Another one bites the dust.
