There are many factors contributing to the housing crisis and insane real estate prices around the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast.
BUT, you are right, realtors are the LOWEST of the low. They are heartless, soul-less, scumbags. Money hingry, greed driven, lying sacks of shit.
The world would be a mich better place if everyone stopped using realtors and just made sales directly between each other. Cut out the obnoxious, opportunistic middle men and women!

I've worked with so many of them in their world of deals and have seen the most SHAMELESS things done to get ahead. Also the FAKE online reviews and friends. I could write a book on the type of person it takes to be successful realtor in this town. In-fact maybe I will one day.

But Municipalities jacking up property taxes every year are Saints? There is quite a lot of paper work involved in selling a house and most people simply find it easier to have the agent deal with open houses and prospective buyers. My agent did great pictures and high end brochures and we got a great price within a couple of weeks.Worth it to me!

They are just middlemen, no more or less dishonest than many other brokers, in a world that seems to be increasingly dominated by brokers of various kinds. Coincidentally (perhaps), "broker" rhymes with "Joker", and also sounds like a superlative of "broke" (as in, even more broke than before). Most brokers have agendas that are variously inimical to the interests of their clients. Real estate is more problematic that way, but hardly exceptional.
Debt is the real issue. It's the One Ring from LOTR, the thing to rule them all and in the darkness bind them. Debt completely dictates everything in people's lives.
The state loves debt and encourages all means to increase it, because it turns people into slaves, chained for life by their financial obligations to their jobs and belongings (and preferably also their families). They can be effectively manipulated by the prospects of unemployment, debt default and dispossession, and easily ruled and ordered about. The banks own everything most people have in Canada, especially including their houses (if mortgaged).
RE agents are just used car salesmen writ extra-large. It's a very pedestrian kind of awful. Get rid of them and something else will take their place. The system requires it.

Realtors only want to drive prices up. Few of them care if you can afford to keep the house five years from now. It's all about the sale today. It is an industry of kickbacks, dishonesty and pushy price boosting.

They are always the sleaziest people I have ever met. In a group of people you cn always pick them out.They are a total scam and people should just stop using them. Think for yourselves, be informed and aware, and meet the people that want to buy your home.
Put regular people back into the equation!

There should be a site outing them, and not just a few bad apples out there it’s almost alarming how many of you are horrible people.

They are not bad persons but seriously many of them are just incompetent. They don’t deserve to take 2.5% of the house value. I only wish they could be replaced by AI soon!
