You’re on something, right? You’re making so many assumptions I don’t know where to start. Firstly, just because I’m good looking doesn’t mean that I’m going to go out with anyone who approaches me, particularly online because in my experience that’s almost the only thing the one-track-mind guys focus on, completely ignoring anything that I’ve said about me as a person. Secondly, it doesn’t matter if you’re good looking because the “men” in this city are still expecting to either have me pay for them, or I pay for myself. Rarely does any guy actually offer to pay for anything more than coffee. I’m not looking for some sugar daddy and I make a good living myself. I’m looking for an actual partner, not just another guy who only wants me for what I can do for him.

The 1:1 mapping that occurred for some of our recent history was not natural. In nature, do you think the primate females match up 1:1 with primate males? No, you have an alpha male who mates with multiple females, and him and the females worth together to prevent the "lower status" males from breeding with them. And of course here status does not mean $$$, clothes, etc. It means genetics.

So, in nature, females do not want to mate with low status males. It's just not how they have evolved. Is this 100% true all of the time? No, but where it is not true, it is generally due to the influence of law, order and society.

What we have now thanks to the "sexual revolution" is a return to traditional primate mating practices. In a few more generations, most women will think nothing of having a house where 4 unrelated women live together, sharing a man they find genetically desirable. Lots of 18-35 year old women already do this without the "keeping him in the house" aspect, they will pass a hot guy around their "circle."

What women are complaining about is that they cannot get a 1:1 match with a guy who is in the top 10-20% of the population. Obviously the math doesn't work out. But your premise that a woman will settle for a guy who is not in the genetic top 10-20% is false. Some will, and historically many did, but those days are over.

What this leads to, who knows. China and India have tons of surplus males, like, tens of millions. And that's without considering female hypergamy, so add that to the mix, and globally we likely have 100 million to 500 million males who will never have a fulfilling sexual or long-term relationship. And it's not because women are "too picky," it's that they were forced, by society, to be less picky.

They don't have to update their picture.

Good-looking, not crazy, have been dating and remaining single for two years. I don’t look for what’s “wrong” with people, I look for where we are incompatible. If I’m an introvert and someone wants to go out and party all weekend, that’s a problem. If I’m old school and want to wait 2-3 months to have sex, and they don’t want to wait, that’s a problem.

I’d rather be single than miserable with someone I’m not a great match with.
