Cashier # 6

I was in a big busy store, patiently waiting in line, I am finally instructed to go to cashier # 6. Off I go but cashier # 6 not there, then I realised she was several feet away with her back turned scrolling through her phone. I consider myself to be a kind tolerant person but this really ticked me off. I wished I had a blow horn, I would have bellowed into it, would cashier # 6 get off her phone and do the job she is being paid to do.

Maybe the cashier was supposed to be off and she was texting her supervisor. Haha! A kind tolerant person would just call her rather than thinking the big busy store is her fault

Maybe...

... she was busy reading the Straight on her phone. That's probably better than working as a cashier, so you should just presume that. It's important that employees get paid breaks to read newspapers, so that they can be informed about current events, and, in the case of Savage Love, dildos.

...the 4 seconds it took for her to turn her attention to you really put a huge crimp in your day. You don't know why she was on her phone. Maybe she was dealing with a serious issue at home. Unless you were hugely inconvenienced by her actions, maybe take a second to reflect on why you're getting so bent over a few seconds of time. As long as she checked you out in a timely manner, she was doing the job she was paid to do. Enough with the petty power trips over those working retail jobs.

I cant wait for robots. Coming fast. Better than dealing with human zombies. Maybe that will wake them up finally.

Wow, that is a lot of negativity

In the Comments.
I’ve noticed the service in my local supermarket declining steadily.
Slow, slow cashiers, being ignored by deli staff, cashiers talking to each other about their personal lives while ringing in my items, more errors that are never in my favour.

Anyone who is really efficient just has a list of groceries and sends his valet to pick them up, anyway. This sounds like a thoroughly lower middle class person raging at being lower middle.

I was in a big busy store, patiently waiting in line, I am finally instructed to go to cashier. Seems like you want a prize for patiently waiting in line at a big busy store. and to FINALLY be instructed to go to the cashier. Too bad there isn't a quick fast track lane for entitled assholes. Seems like you were pissed off the entire time but the cashier was just the last straw.
