Inferno

I'm reading Dan Brown's Inferno right now and it's about how a guy basically believes that we need a plague to wipe out vast numbers of the population in order to save the earth. Then it made me think of those pictures that people have created to show what the earth would look like in 50 years if humans were extinguished. And now, I honestly believe that the Earth is taking care of itself, be it floods or earthquakes or wildfires, the Earth is trying to preserve itself by attempting to get rid of the plagues that are harming it. I know that sounds crazy but it is a crazy world we've created.

George Carlin had a stand up skit about this.
YouTube had it, last I checked. Great social commentary, stating the obvious but very funny.
He defined humanity as an infestation. Of fleas.
I'd say termites because urbanization.
I miss that guy.

Earthquakes have nothing...I repeat nothing to do with global warming.

Now stand in front of the mirror and say that 10 times to yourself.

Overpopulation

Dec 19, 2018 at 7:28am

No one wants to talk about it. We can talk about climate change and the Paris agreement, etc, but no one wants to address overpopulation.
There are waaaaay too many people. It's a no brainer. Birth control is a must, especially in poor nations where they have 5-6 children per woman, but politicians are not willing to discuss this for fear of becoming unpopular.

If...

... we didn't have socialists using taxation and psy-war to constrain technological development, we, at least in the West, would live in a Star Trek style paradise by now. The problem is that we offshore millions of dollars to foreign countries, and our Universities now think "social justice" is the most important thing.

We have the technology to do lots of things, but religious beliefs in invisible entities like "justice" and "debt" get in the way.
