There are only two major food groups. Poutine and beer. Everything else is optional. Moose steaks. Baked beaver. Hipster paté. Don't need that fancy stuff. Stick to basics. The recession is coming.

The Government gives really stupid dietary advice. The whole saturated fat/egg debacle is a good indication of how the Government "thinks" about food.
What we're doing now is trading "big agra," that at least wanted a population of reasonably healthy consumers to continue buying its products for "big climate." All of this plant based diet crap is supposed to save the world. It's an experiment is what it is, any researcher who says "we know what this will do" is lying or dangerously confused or a bit of both.

I’m all for eating lots of veggies. I also eat meats and fish and some dairy. The plain fact is that it’s very hard to get the iron we need to be healthy from a totally plant based diet. Im not saying it can’t be done, but one has to be VERY devoted to doing so and even then it’s not nearly as effective in the body. There’s also the issue that to feed the entire population on plants alone is going to require a lot of land and farmers, and if we just take a look around here at our dwindling land resources in the ALR because of it being sold off for monster houses, it becomes clear how difficult that’s going to be.
