I'm glad the Craigslist buyer who decided to low-ball me drove all the way from Maple Ridge

And I didn't accept his low-ball. I had listed for $25. He emailed to offer $15. I said I was firm at $20. He said he would be in town and can we meet. He brought $15. Yeah, it's only a $5 difference but that is insulting and disingenuous. I sent his sorry ass packing. Glad you wasted a 1.5-hour drive and $10 in gas trying to scam $5.

People think that it's their right to rip you off because you posted on CL. So many time-wasters!

Some dipshit tried to do the same with me a few years ago. Drove in from Abbotsford and then offered $5 dollars less. When I told him I wouldn't sell for that price, he said that's all he had. Told him there was a bank machine right next door and he said all he would give was what he had in hand. Told him he'd just wasted both of our mornings. Look on his face was frigging priceless too. Sold the item at the price I wanted the next day. Lowballers can get bent.

Is the kid who sold me a broken PlayStation 3. Bought it - sure enough it stopped working in a week. Coincidence? Highly unlikely - So I paid a repair man $20 to tell me if someone has already been inside to try and fix it. Sure enough, they had been - funny that! the kid didn't bother telling me that. I called and told him what happened and he goes " Oh snap! Got you". And I say "Oh snap hey? You brought me over to your house and sold this to me, oh snap. I am going to show up to your house and throw this through your front window, oh snap. Next time you sell broken equipment to scam someone - dont do it from your home. Oh snap."

Guess who got their money back? Thats right. Oh snap

A. NEVER drive anywhere to deliver something that someone wants to buy. They'll just really low ball you, thinking that you don't want to waste your time.

B. They will lie about their location. Suppose they are in Chilliwack, and you are in Vancouver. They'll say "lets meet halfway in Langley". WRONG! They actually live in Langley, and just want you to deliver it for them. Then, refer back to point A.

C. Don't wait around for people to show up. They do this,so you have time invested and they hope you'll sell for really cheap as you won't want to waste your time. Don't give it to them at a cheap price,if anything charge more. I used to tell people the price goes up if I have to wait. I've had idiots not text, then show up 2 hours later and get mad as I was nowhere near home, and had left an hour and forty five minutes earlier. And then won't sell it to them.

C. Do not let anyone test drive without you in the car. If they want a mechanic check, its fair to have it checked at a garage near to you. Don't drive the car all over the place because: refer back to point B,then refer to point A.

As of recent years, anything of little value I give it to the local can picker guy,or donate it to the local cancer hospice thrift store rather than having to deal with riff raff.

I use the musical instruments section often, when a guitar doesn't sell for a while, I put it up for trade. I've made a couple of good deals but the amps are always broken. You should see the crap people offer me with a straight face. Lately I put a guitar up for $1000 and guys were offering me garbage worth $600 in trade.

@ ex car > #B !! haha, i bet thats been done to me , I've done the "lets meet in the middle in Langley" from Van a couple of times. good to know.
