My job confession

I confess it’s fair pay for the amount of work I do. But I still dread coming in to work. And I don’t really enjoy being with my other coworkers either. Sure we do team lunches and everyone seems nice, all of us seem to get along fine. But if it were not for the bimonthly paychecks, I personally would not hang out with any of them.

No kidding

You’ve basically described the atmosphere in my workplace. I’ve been invited to staff parties at pubs, but I never go for two reasons. I’m not to crazy about hanging out with the same people outside of work hours. I no longer drink anymore so to be sober in the middle of a bunch of loudmouth drunks making fools of themselves doesn’t appeal to me. Thanks but no thanks.

My father owned a company that I worked for during the summers and if I wasn't related to the boss I'm pretty sure some of the people who were nice to me wouldn't be nice at all.

You’re paid to work

Not paid to be friends with people. I actually don’t want to listen or spend time with most of the people I work with. They don’t fill my bucket, and I don’t fill theirs.

I dread my workplace too and I would gladly work from home, regardless of how isolated that would make me feel. Having to socialize with people I don't have anything in common with. Having to hear them gossiping and laughing all day for every stupid little thing. The corporate environment which sucks your soul out of you...

I think this should be the norm. companies who use that "family atmosphere" thing tho are most likely trying to take advantage of u. u should feel bad for saying no to work or wanting time to urself. it's bs.

Heh heh heh
