The Prettiest Girl in the World

A long time ago in a land far far away (from where I am now) I met the prettiest girl in the world. It took me by surprise because I had already known her for some time. But at some point something changed and I saw the real her for the first time. And I wasn't in the position to ask her out or express how I felt so I kept those thoughts hidden away, until one day they leaked out anyway as contained feelings tend to do, and it turned out the prettiest girl in the world didn't see me the same. And I didn't live happily ever after. But I hope she did.

... dated the prettiest girl in the world. I dunno if they're all like her, but she did a lot to make me feel guilty for not doing everything she wanted, and I think this is because she likely did get almost everything she wanted. And her parents didn't even give her horseback riding lessons, imagine if they had!

It's funny how getting to know someone better changes how you view them and how their level of attractiveness changes. There was a guy I became friends with through another friend. He always had a bit of a crush on me but I had a boyfriend already. Plus, he wasn't really my "type". Then my boyfriend and I broke up and he asked our mutual friend if it would be a good idea to ask me out. She said to give it some time (with my coaching) so instead, the guy friend and I just started hanging out. He was still a bit of a loudmouth and opinionated but he was also funny and fun to be around and I enjoyed spending time with him as a friend. One day, he invited me over to his place because he was having other friends over for a music listening party. I knew no one but him but he made sure that I wasn't alone or feeling awkward. It was so thoughtful of him that before my eyes, he went from "not my type" to "I could fall for this guy". He ended up meeting someone else who was much better suited for him but we're still friends to this day. I always remember this whenever I meet someone new and think, "Oh, they're nice. But they're not my type." I don't say that a lot anymore, though.

So so so
