Fat shame at the gym

There two women who look like the ig model type, were making humiliating remakes about my weight. I know I am fat and I am doing something about it which is why I am in the gym and change my diet. I let their behaviour slide as karma can bite them in the butt. Either way, once life circumstance gets to them or their health deteriorates and they have to be on medications that makes them gain a lot of weight, I hope they can remember everyone who they fat shamed.

You gave them a very pointed look, or if you were brave enough, said something. I know it’s such a scary thing to do, so it’s totally understandable if you didnt, but calling people out is the only way shit like this stops. I would also complain to management. You pay to be there and you should be comfortable.

I have been both overweight and skinny several times. I’m the heaviest I’ve been in about 8 or 9 years. No one deserves to be treated like a second class citizen.

Good for you for making healthy changes . Even if you don’t get the results you want, you are taking care of yourself, and that’s what counts in the long run.

They need to be kidnapped and sent to a Jamaican brothel until Steven Segal rescues them.

Glad you’re doing something about it. Unfortunately, girls like that lead charmed lives and will likely always get everything they want. However, they are ugly inside and have no insight, so joke’s on them. Keep up the hard work!

you never know...

People put on a lot of weight in their 30s, and especially after pregnancy. They'll probably get there eventually if theyre trophys.

Confront them in the gym, and let the whole gym know what they are saying. I promise they won’t be acting so smug then

You can do this

I was in your shoes where I was called all sorts of names for being over weight in school. I worked hard at losing the weight and in a short time the tables turned really quickly.
The cards are in your favour as it's easier to lose weight than gain a soul.
All the power to you!

I'm too skinny to go to the gym

So I do my thing at home working at my own pace. There are a lot of good calisthenics you can Google which require neither machines nor knobs

Why not approach the gym Manager, ask about the gym's policy on bullying and harassment. Ask that your gym enforce their policy with these two dumbbells. Management need not identify you as the source of the complaint. It's no different than a respectful workplace policy. It's the Manager's workplace. The fact that you are a paying customer is all the more reason for someone to step-in on your behalf.
