I wish

I have two friends that are very attracted to me and they are both lovely people. They are both marriage material and have expressed to me on separate occasions that they’d love to be with me. The problem is I’m not attracted to either of them and would prefer to stay friends. It’s tough to keep the friendships because I know how they feel about me but I’ve known them both for many years. My love life has always been a disaster and they’d both treat me like gold if I gave one of them a chance but I can’t bring myself to. Other friends have encouraged me to give it a try but I don’t want to get their hopes up and have to let them down. The sexual attraction just isn’t there. It sucks.

Throw a paper bag over their head and pretend they're someone else.

"My love life has always been a disaster".....Well If your only requirement is "sexual attraction"....

Give them a spin in the bedroom. Perhaps they are sexy lovers. A good marriage starts and ends in the bedroom. You might not know what you are attracted to until you get naked and have a threesome.

Great confession girl

Find a dude with some sick tats and a drug addition. Or maybe a wannabe rapper? Go find a sexy mess

Just promise you won't come on here in 3 or 6 months- or years- and bemoan the fact how lonely you are,how dating in Vancouver sucks etc.
I don't even have any friends, much less TWO that want to go further

Yep

I know you’ll be getting a lot of downvotes because your confession sounds more like a not-so-humble brag, but I’ve been there. One of my friends who used to be a long term admirer is in a happy, healthy relationship now and I’m glad I didn’t start one with him while I could, just to be with someone nice. Everyone deserves to be with someone who’s passionate about them, not “settling” or “giving them a chance”.

Don't do it!

Please trust me. I speak from experience. It wont "be different than the rest" ... It'll end in divorce and heartbreak. I thought I could ignore all the warning signs of my body not wanting him because"ours was a love built on friendship" and objectively he was perfect (to the point where my family still thinks I shouldn't have given up because he's just *so good*) but it was awful to pretend once the honeymoon phase was over and the excitement of a new relationship was gone (it took 4 years) and it was just like having a good friend, but that's not enough especially when they constantly want to have sex with you and you don't have those feelings. Please trust me. I tried SO hard to make it work and it damn near broke me before I gave up, and getting divorced was the best choice I ever made for myself but I lost who I thought was a good friend over it because turns out he never valued the friendship, he only ever saw me as his future wife and when that didn't work out he dropped me like a hot potato.
@Yep has it right. If you value the friendship do yourselves both a favour and don't do it. It's not worth it.

And i wish

Hmm, tough decision. I think it really boils down to body shape. Are you shaped a bit like a frog? Because if so you DEFINITELY SHOULD SLEEP WITH THE ONE WITH BLUE EYES. Just sayin'.
